about us.

All Families Healthcare envisions a world where everyone has equal access to compassionate abortion and sexual and reproductive health care.

It is our intention to provide care with open arms to ALL people who seek our services.

We provide compassionate, patient-centered healthcare in an environment that is warm and inclusive.

We believe reproductive health is integral to human health and as such is essential health care.

Our vision is that by providing care that includes the means to choose the number and timing of one’s children, we will improve the wellbeing of individuals and families in our communities.

Providing abortion care is an act of trust. We trust that each of us knows what we need in order to shape our own futures.

Providing abortion care with dignity and compassion is an act of love. When abortion care is accessible, individuals, families, and communities thrive.

Providing abortion is part of a movement for liberation. Reproductive Justice, as defined by SisterSong, is the human right to maintain bodily autonomy, have children, not have children, and parent the children we have in safe and sustainable communities. Abortion access is a critical part of maintaining Reproductive Justice and a future where every person can make their own decisions with dignity and self-determination.

Providing abortion care – especially now – is an act of hope and strength. Despite the barrage of restrictions, bans, threats, and violence, we aren’t going away. We are here for you.

Our Story

Our story begins with our pioneering foremother, Susan Cahill. Susan provided primary care and abortion services in the Flathead Valley for nearly 40 years, until her clinic, the original All Families Healthcare, was destroyed by an anti-abortion extremist. The destruction of her clinic left NW Montana without a single abortion provider. Those seeking abortion were forced to drive hundreds of miles. Such a trip, with its associated time and expense, was impossible for many.

Helen Weems, a family nurse practitioner, moved to Montana and opened the new All Families Healthcare with the goal of carrying on Susan’s legacy and satisfying some of the unmet healthcare needs in our region. To that end, the present All Families Healthcare is a sexual and reproductive healthcare practice offering the full range of contraceptives, abortion, STI testing and treatment, adolescent and gender-affirming care.

Helen fought and won a legal battle to expand abortion access in the state of Montana. Represented by the Montana ACLU and the Center for Reproductive Rights, Helen sued the state of Montana to recognize Nurse Practitioners and Nurse-Midwives as legal abortion providers. And she won! At a time in our country when abortion access is under grave attack, the success of Weems v. Montana expands abortion access in our state and provides a blueprint for expansion in other states.

All Families expands access to sexual and reproductive healthcare by contributing to the training of our next generation of medical providers. We work with nursing, residency and fellowship programs to provide needed training in abortion care.

We are proud of our story and proud of our contribution to helping All people make choices about if and when and how to parent.
